FAQs
How much carpet do I need?
In order to calculate how much carpet is needed, measure the area and multiply the longest and widest dimensions by each other. This will give you the total number of square metres. It’s also best to allow around 5% for cutting wastage.
As carpet is generally cut from rolls of a set width (usually either 4 or 5 M), you will need to account for this in your calculations. It’s also worth considering the direction of the pattern, if applicable, and where any seams may lie for rooms wider than 5 M.
By following these tips, you should be able to produce an accurate carpet plan to suit your room.
